Melksham’s Great British Spring Clean- Sunday 24th March 2024, 1pm-3pm

In collaboration with The Melksham Bloomers, Melksham Town Council will be holding Melksham’s Great British Spring Clean on Sunday 24th March, 1pm-3pm.

This is part of the annual Keep Britain Tidy, Great British Spring Clean campaign, which runs from 15th March - 31st March 2024.

This year, we will be involving all Wards of Melksham, not just the Town Centre, and there will be a hub in each Ward, where volunteers can gather before and after the event.

The hubs for each Ward will be:

South- Melksham Town Hall, Market Place

Forest- Pig & Whistle, Woodrow Road

North- McDonalds, Beanacre Road

East- Watermeadow, Verbena Court

Members of the public will be invited to gather at the hub that is closest to them from 1 pm. Litter pickers, bin bags and hi-vis will be provided.

Melksham Town Councillors from each Ward will also be available at their area Hubs, overseeing their team’s efforts.

Councillor Charlie Stokes, Melksham East Ward said: “The Great British Spring Clean is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together as a community and help boost the tidiness of our town. We have a fantastic Amenities team who keep our town looking great, but it's still important for us residents, regardless of age, to work together to just help give it that extra sparkle. If you have the time on Sunday 24th March, please do join us and feel free to bring along your children and grandchildren. This is their town too and it's important we encourage them to care for our environment.”
