It was announced by the High Court on Wednesday last week that Councils will return to conducting meetings which must be held in a single, specified geographical location going forward. This follows the expiritation of the temporary Flexibility Regulations, which allowed Government business to be conducted remotely during the COVID-19 outbreak. For remote meetings to be allowed again, the Court declared that this would be a choice required to be made via primary legislation in Parliament.

Melksham Town Council can therefore confirm that the Annual Town Meeting of Electors will be held at The Assembly Hall, Market Place, Melksham, SN12 6ES at 7 PM on Monday, 24 May. More information is outlined in the attached notice, published in the 28 April issue of the Melksham Independent News, and displayed physically around the town. The Agenda will be published shortly and will be available in the Meetings Section of this site and on Facebook.

This meeting is open to all residents. All COVID rules and regulations will apply, and social distancing will be required. If you do plan to attend, please wear a mask and wrap up warm as we will need to keep doors open to maintain airflow. If you have any questions, or for any other information, please email us on townhall@melksham-tc.gov.uk or ring 01225 704187
