While many of the usual events are not taking place this year, the following community activities are happening around Melksham. If you know of any that are not listed please let us know by emailing miriamzaccarelli@melksham-tc.gov.uk
While there will be no official switch on this year, the team of volunteers are working hard to make sure the Christmas lights in Melksham are even more spectacular than ever. They will be switched on at some point before 6pm on Saturday 5th December.
Melksham Town Council are hosting their annual Christmas Shop Window competition as usual this year. The Mayor and Deputy Mayor will be judging the beautiful windows on the 11th and 12th December. To enter please contact David.McKnight@melksham-tc.gov.uk
Clare Richter is creating a map of decorated houses around Melksham as a Christms Trail. Over 40 houses are taking part and the map will show where they all are so people can enjoy a walk around town to see them all.
Elves will be hiding in front gardens and windows all around Melksham as part of the ManorSchool’s Elf Trail from Saturday 5th December until Sunday 13th December.
Collect all the elf names and post your entry form in the box outside school or email your entry to elfhunt@themanor.wilts.sch.uk to enter a prize draw to win a Christmas goodies hamper.
Money raised will go towards Christmas activities in the classrooms for our children, as sadly due to Covid19 they won’t be able to have the usual whole school disco or Christmas Fayre.
There will also be a vote for the best dressed elf on The Manor’s social media channels.
Please make a small donation to get the link to download the map and entry form. (Please note a 2% admin charge will be added to your donation)

The fantastic FXT ‘Festive Dash’ virtual fitness challenge for local charity - ‘Helping Victims of Domestic Violence’ will be released soon! This will involve wearing anything festive (e.g. it can be as little as wearing tinsel in your hair to a full-on Santa outfit ) and either walking or running 5k / 10k or half marathon on Saturday 19th or Sunday 20th December. On completion you can choose either a lovely snowman or Xmas pudding medal.
All profits raised from this will purchase a Xmas shoe box or hamper for people that have experienced domestic violence & can’t afford to buy Xmas presents for their families. If you were thinking of donating to a charity this Xmas please consider this one
More info coming soon! Please share this as wide as possible. For further info about the charity please see the link below. Thanks sooo much, Justin
