Melksham Town Council wishes to thank all candidates who stood in last Thursday’s set of elections for the Council and offer warm congratulations to all the elected councillors.   Officers have been busy preparing important packs of information for those who are newly elected.  Our Town Clerk, Linda Roberts, is meeting with duly-elected councillors to welcome them aboard and so they can formally declare their acceptance into office as councillors of Melksham Town Council.   The newly elected Town Council will meet for first time next Monday, 17 May at 7 PM.

For all those Melksham Town Councillors who are stepping down from the Council, either by choice or via the ballot box, we thank you for your service in representing the residents of your town over the past four years and for your positive collaborative work with officers, contractors, community groups and all the other stakeholders you will have come across during your term.  Being a town councillor is no easy experience.  Doing so involves standing up to be counted, sticking your head above the parapet and volunteering a good chunk of time to your community.

Thank you again and we wish you every success in your next steps.
