Melksham Makers Market

The market is an outdoor market, which takes place in the Melksham Market Place on the last Saturday of every month between April and September (excludes August) and can accommodate approximately 25 stall holders.

The Melksham Makers Market operates from 9am – 2pm.

Melksham Bloomers Town Tidy

Monthly Town Tidy

On the first Sunday of each month, join The Melksham Bloomers for their Monthly Town Tidy, which is proudly supported by Melksham Town Council. It is a great way to give back, meet new friends, and help keep our town beautiful!

Simply turn up outside Melksham Town Hall to get involved. Or, feel free to start litter picking from your doorstep and meet us along the way!

All equipment provided, just wear suitable footwear and bring your own gloves.

Melksham Carnival Parade

Melksham Carnival

Melksham Carnival is a vibrant annual celebration which bringing the community together in a lively display of creativity and spirit. Featuring floats, music, dancers, and performers from local groups, schools, and organisations across the town. The carnival spirit is celebrated all year round thanks to Melksham’s carnival royalty who are present across the year at a host of community events, through activities like Melksham Rocks and through the carnival committee’s varied fundraising activities which culminates in the parade itself annually each July.

Melksham Food and River Festival

The Melksham Food and River Festival is a vibrant, free community event held annually on the last weekend in August at King George V Playing Field and along the River Avon. Organised by the Festival Committee with support from the Wilts & Berks Canal Trust and Wiltshire Youth Canoe Club, the festival celebrates local culture, community spirit, and riverside heritage.

The event showcases a wide array of local food and drink producers, artisans, and start-up businesses, offering visitors the chance to sample and purchase high-quality local goods. With activities and entertainment for all ages—including canoeing, river displays, community group exhibitions, and live music—the festival is a must-visit summer highlight for families and visitors from across the region.

Whether you’re looking to enjoy delicious local fare, explore river activities, or connect with the community, the Melksham Food and River Festival has something for everyone.

Bands by the Bridge

Bands by the Bridge

The Kingston Group are kicking off May Bank Holiday in Melksham, in support of Wiltshire & Bath Air Ambulance! Stationed in Semington, this lifesaving team of volunteers is ready  19 hours a day, 365 days a year, reaching anywhere in Wiltshire within 11 minutes.

Join the event on 2nd May in King George V Park for live music from Helena Eden, Lowrie, Ukey Dukes, The Sitting Ducks, Shut The Front Door, The 789s, Pipe Dream, and Foo Lizzy.

Vegan fairs

Vegan Market

After the success of last years event, Vegan Fairs are  returning to Melksham with their popular vegan market on 14 March 2026.

Browse a range of products from local and national independent businesses including incredible street food, sweet bakes and treats, deli items like vegan cheese, arts and crafts, charities and outreach and much more. There is something for everyone!

The market will be in Melksham Market Place from 10am – 2pm.

FUEL Program Skate Event

The event offers skate park sessions with food for the children in Wiltshire, on Thursday 2nd April 2026, from 10:30am to 1:30pm!

Children can enjoy free food while taking part in a mix of activities at the skate park. There will be games for all ages and abilities, plus free tuition in scooting and skateboarding, perfect for complete beginners as well as those looking to learn more advanced tricks.

There will also be fun competitions throughout the day, with plenty of brilliant prizes up for grabs. Everyone is encouraged to join in, no matter their skill level — there truly is something for everyone!
