Grants awarded 2025

Melksham Town Council is delighted to announce the award of £5,879.98 in community grants to a range of local charities, volunteer groups and community initiatives. The funding – approved at the Community Development Committee’s Grants Meeting on Monday, 8th December – will support organisations delivering vital services and positive opportunities for residents across the town.

This year’s grant recipients represent a diverse mix of groups working to improve well-being, reduce isolation, support families, enhance digital access, and strengthen community resilience.

Grant Awards

The following organisations were awarded funding:

  • Melksham Foodbank & Lifeline CIO – £1,000 – Breakfasts for 180 people.
  • Melksham Lions – £559.98 – Repairs to Santa’s Sleigh.
  • Wiltshire Digital Drive CIC – £1,000 – 50 devices for 25 people in Melksham
  • Celebrating Age Wiltshire – £1,000 – 5 x 1.5-hour men’s conversations.
  • Friends of Gifford Surgery – £1,000 – Food for Christmas dinner & £300 room hire
  • Melksham Community Larder – £200 – Hire of AH swish clothes recycling
  • Friends of River Mead School – £120 – Hire of park for trail events
  • FearFree – £1,000 – Free the night event in Melksham

We welcome Melksham Town Council’s funding, which makes clear that women’s and girls’ safety is a priority. Free The Night is a fun and inclusive event, and we can’t wait to see communities come together to light up the streets for International Women’s Day.
