Melksham Food and River Festival
The Melksham Food and River Festival is a vibrant, free community event held annually on the last weekend in August at King George V Playing Field and along the River Avon. Organised by the Festival Committee with support from the Wilts & Berks Canal Trust and Wiltshire Youth Canoe Club, the festival celebrates local culture, community spirit, and riverside heritage.
The event showcases a wide array of local food and drink producers, artisans, and start-up businesses, offering visitors the chance to sample and purchase high-quality local goods. With activities and entertainment for all ages—including canoeing, river displays, community group exhibitions, and live music—the festival is a must-visit summer highlight for families and visitors from across the region.
Whether you’re looking to enjoy delicious local fare, explore river activities, or connect with the community, the Melksham Food and River Festival has something for everyone.
