Melksham Town Council Community Grants and Partnership Funding Confirmed
Melksham Town Council announces that eight community grants are scheduled for payment and agrees a £6,000 contribution to the Community Conversations Fund.
At the Finance Governance & Performance Meeting on Monday 26th January 2026, councillors confirmed that the community grants awarded in December were to be paid on 1st February 2026 and will be reflected in the end-of-year accounts.
The Responsible Financial Officer (RFO) and Community Officer are working closely to ensure a smooth process and the timely delivery of funds to grant recipients. This year’s grants will support community groups and charities in the local area which work to relieve social, financial and physical challenges faced by residents.
Reflecting the Town Council’s ongoing commitment to supporting services that positively impact the community, Melksham Town Council agreed to contribute £6,000 to the Community Conversations Fund. Contributions will support the installation of a refill station at King George V Playing Fields, taking steps to move the King George V Playing Field Master Plan forward.
At the meeting, Melksham Without Parish Council’s financial contribution for the 2026-2027 financial year was acknowledged. Melksham Town Council issued a formal thank you, expressing their gratitude for the ongoing support and partnership that benefits the wider community. The funding will positively support facilities and events within wider Melksham and includes £5,000 towards the Market Place public toilets and £2,500 towards Remembrance and Christmas lights.
