Melksham Town Council is inviting enthusiastic and community-minded individuals to consider joining the Council through co-option.
If you have a passion for making a difference and expertise in areas such as Environment, Human Resources, Marketing, Hospitality, or Facilities Management, this is a unique opportunity to contribute to the future of Melksham.
Co-option allows the Council to appoint new members outside of the usual election cycle, helping to bring in fresh perspectives and specialist knowledge to support local initiatives and decision-making.
Whether you are a seasoned professional or someone with lived experience and a strong commitment to our community, we would love to hear from you. The Council is particularly keen to strengthen its capacity in key areas that impact the well-being and development of Melksham.
Eligibility
To be eligible for co-option, you must:
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be a British citizen, a Commonwealth citizen, or a citizen of the European Union.
You must also meet at least one of the following criteria:
• Be registered as a local government elector in the area.
