Melksham Town Hall to Become Drop-Off Point for Wiltshire Digital Drive Donations

Melksham Town Council is pleased to announce its support for Wiltshire Digital Drive. This community organisation refurbishes unwanted laptops, computers and other digital devices and redistributes them to individuals and families who need them most.

Following a recent Community Development Committee meeting, councillors unanimously agreed in principle to allow the Town Hall to operate as an official drop-off point for donated devices, subject to a few operational concerns being finalised. Once in place, residents will be able to bring unwanted tech to the Town Hall, where it will be securely stored and passed on to Wiltshire Digital Drive for refurbishment.

Wiltshire Digital Drive works across the county to tackle digital exclusion by giving a new life to unused equipment and ensuring people of all ages can access online services, education, job opportunities and community connections.

A Positive Step for Melksham

By hosting a drop-off point, Melksham Town Council hopes to make it easier for local people to donate unused devices and support others within the community who may not have access to the digital tools they need for everyday life.

Full details of when and how residents can donate will be published once arrangements are finalised.
