Your Town, Your Voice, Your Parks – Community Consultation Now Live
Melksham Town Council is inviting residents to take part in an important new consultation designed to help shape the future of the town’s parks, play areas and open green spaces. Your Town, Your Voice, Your Parks asks the community to share views on how these spaces should evolve, how they can best serve all age groups, and how they can continue to bring people together across Melksham.
Parks and open spaces consistently rank among the community’s highest priorities, with residents highlighting their value for families, wellbeing, recreation and environmental sustainability. Previous consultation responses also showed a strong local appetite for natural play areas, nature based design and green spaces that support both wildlife and community life.
Creating Spaces That Belong to Everyone
Open spaces play a vital role in creating a strong sense of place. They help define the character of Melksham, offering opportunities for play, exercise, connection and creativity. As the town continues to grow and change, Melksham Town Council is committed to ensuring these areas reflect the aspirations of all who use them.
The Council is encouraging residents to think boldly and imaginatively about what they want to see, whether that means more inclusive play areas, natural landscapes, places to relax, or vibrant community activity spaces.
Importantly, the Council is especially keen to hear from children and young people, whose ideas will influence the long-term future of Melksham’s parks and play environments.

Melksham Town Council extends its thanks to everyone who takes the time to complete the survey. As a gesture of appreciation, every resident who submits a completed survey will be entered into a prize draw to win two tickets to a 2026 event at the Melksham Assembly Hall.
How to Take Part
The consultation survey is available online and at Melksham Town Hall, with further information accessible through the Council’s website. Printed copies will also be available at community engagement sessions and local events to ensure as many residents as possible can take part.
