Community Officer

Full Time | Salary: £30,559–£33,366 (SCP 18–23) + pension
Location: Melksham Town Hall | Hours: 37 per week

Melksham Town Council is seeking a proactive and community-focused Community Officer to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of a wide range of public events and community initiatives. This role plays a vital part in engaging with residents, supporting local groups, and helping to foster a vibrant and inclusive town.

The successful candidate will have experience delivering high-quality public events, a strong background in community engagement, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. A flexible, creative, and organised approach is essential.

Communications & Marketing Officer
Full Time | Salary: £28,163–£30,060 (SCP 13–17) + pension
Location: Melksham Town Hall | Hours: 37 per week

Melksham Town Council is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Communications & Marketing Officer to lead the Council’s internal and external communications, enhance community engagement, and promote events and initiatives across the town.

The role involves managing digital and print communications, maintaining the Council’s websites and social media, producing engaging content, and building relationships with local media and sponsors. Experience in marketing, media relations, and graphic design is essential, along with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.

Responsible Financial Officer (RFO)

Full Time | Salary: £42,708–£45,718 (SCP 33–36) + pension
Location: Melksham Town Hall | Hours: 37 per week

Melksham Town Council is seeking an innovative, forward-thinking, and proactive Responsible Financial Officer (RFO) to manage the Council’s day-to-day finances and deputise for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in their absence.

The RFO will oversee financial planning, budget monitoring, audits, payroll, risk management, and compliance, ensuring the Council meets all financial and statutory requirements. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, numerate, and experienced in local government or a similar environment, with a recognised financial qualification.

Casual Bar Staff – Melksham Assembly Hall

Part-Time, Flexible Hours | £12.50/hr

Join our team at Melksham Assembly Hall as a Casual Bar Staff member, supporting public and private events. Responsibilities include serving customers, maintaining a clean venue, and assisting with event setup and breakdown.

Ideal for friendly, proactive individuals with excellent customer service skills and a team-focused attitude.
