**Melksham Town Council Announces Grants Allocation**

Melksham Town Council is pleased to announce the allocation of significant grants to support community initiatives within the town. A total of £12,568.40 has been awarded to regular grant recipients, alongside £29,000 designated for major grant recipients. These grants were approved during the recent meeting of the Finance, Administration, and Performance Committee held on Monday 11th March 2024.

The major grant recipients for 2024/2025 are as follows:

-Melksham Tourist Information Centre: £4,000

-Melksham Food & River Festival: £5,000

-Melksham Christmas Lights Group: £10,000

- 4Youth:£10,000

In addition, the following organisations have also been awarded grants:

- Back OnTrack- Stroke Rehab Service: £1,000

- Trauma Breakthrough: £1,000

-Celebrating Age Wiltshire: £1,000

-Wiltshire Sight: £500

- British Cactus & Succulent Society Wiltshire Branch: £544.40

- Age UK Wiltshire: £8,524

Reflecting on the allocations, Councillor Saffi Rabey remarked, "It was an absolute pleasure to be in the position to support these very important grant applications that benefit our town so much."

The next round of grant applications will open on Monday 20th May 2024 and will close on Friday 21st June 2024 to be heard on Monday 8^th July 2024.
