King George V Park, is a beautiful and versatile green space at the heart of Melksham, featuring a stunning avenue of trees and a welcoming atmosphere.

This historic park is the ideal setting for a wide variety of events, including outdoor music festivals, community markets, product launches, film screenings, family fun days, and group gatherings of all sizes.

The park is just a short walk from Melksham town centre, with easy access to local bus routes, train services, and accommodation options. Free parking is available adjacent to the park, and the grounds are fully wheelchair accessible.

Melksham Splash Pad

Opened in 2019, Melksham Splash Pad is a vibrant, nature-themed water play area designed to accommodate up to 120 children at once. Located within the scenic King George V Playing Fields, it offers a fun and safe environment for families to enjoy during the warmer months.

The Splash Pad operates from early spring through late summer, typically from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM daily.

However, its operation is weather dependent. It may close during inclement weather, such as heavy rain, high winds, or cold temperatures to ensure safety and equipment integrity. Updates on closures are provided via the Melksham Town Council Facebook page. 

While a Melksham Town Council Officer monitors the Splash Pad during opening hours, it is an unsupervised facility. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children at all times. In case of an emergency, contact 999 immediately.
