What car parks are eligible for the scheme?
Only Church Street Car Park is eligible for the Parking Redemption Scheme.

Do I need to make a purchase to reclaim my parking?
No. Visitors are not required to make a purchase to reclaim their parking fee.
What if I want to stay longer than two hours?
Church Street Car Park is open 24 hours with a maximum stay of three hours.
While the scheme covers up to two hours, you may purchase a longer stay and reclaim the cost of two hours only.
What proof do I need to show?
You must provide valid evidence of your parking ticket. Accepted forms include:
- A photo of your physical ticket
- Confirmation via the MiPermit app
Please ensure your physical ticket is clearly displayed in your vehicle to avoid a fine from Wiltshire Council. Participating businesses will accept a photo if you use the pay and display machines.
What are the benefits of Melksham’s Parking Redemption Scheme?
By offering two hours of free parking, the scheme aims to maintain and encourage footfall to local businesses and ensure that Melksham remains accessible and affordable for all. The scheme reduces the financial barrier of parking, making short trips into Melksham more appealing and encouraging spontaneous visits.
Businesses also benefit from greater visibility, and visitors into their business who may overwise have not entered.
When will the scheme end?
The scheme is funded annually by Melksham Town Council. It has been approved for the 2026/27 financial year and will be reviewed each year as part of the Council’s budget setting process.
