**Melksham Town Council to Host ‘Music in the Park’ Event**

Melksham Town Council are delighted to present its first 'Music in the Park' event on Friday 21st June 2024, 7.30pm-9.30pm, in King George V Playing Fields.

Following a unanimous resolution at the Community Development Committee on Tuesday 7th May, preparations for this exciting live event are now underway.

This FREE outdoor gig will feature music from local musician Sam Evans and his band, who are stopping off in Melksham on their way to Glastonbury Festival at the end of June.

Sam, whose music is a mix of acoustic, folk and pop, recently won the chance to perform at Glastonbury after beating over 1,000 acts in the Pilton Stage Competition, which gives up-and-coming bands the chance to perform at the popular festival.

Sam has also headlined at the Tree House in Frome and appeared on BBC News and BBC Radio 2.

Evie’s Kitchen will remain open throughout the evening serving hot drinks, cake, ice cream and slushies. Their food truck will also be there serving their famous mac & cheese, loaded fries and wild boar and plant-based hot dogs!

There will also be an on-site bar provided by Freddy’s Double Deuce Bar Ltd!

For more details on this event, please see the event page here, email comms-events@melksham-tc.gov.uk or call 01225 704 187.
