Our Grant Schemes

Melksham Town Council awards three types of grants for use by constituted community organisation and charities: Core, Community, and Facility Hire Grants. Core Grants are awarded annually for a four year period. Community and Facility Hire Grants are awarded bi-annually in April and September.

Details of any grants received by Melksham Town Council from grant providers will be displayed in the table below.

1. Core Grants

Core Grants are awarded annually for a maximum of four years. This offers financial assurance to larger organisations operating within Melksham Town. Core Grant recipients are selected at the discretion of Melksham Town Council though an application process.

Core Grants are not currently open for new applications.

2. Community Grants

Community grants are for maximum of £1,000 and are awarded bi-annually in April and September. You can apply for a Facility grant at the same time.

3. Facilities Hire Grants

Facility Hire Grants enables Melksham Town Council to fund room hire in Melksham Town Hall, Melksham Assembly Hall, or KGV park for a specified (number of) event(s). If applying for a Facility Hire Grant, please contact Melksham Assembly Hall at assemblyhall@melksham-tc.gov.uk prior to making this application to get a quote for the exact amount your event/s would cost. If you’d like to apply for a Community grant, you can do this at the same time.

4. Monitoring Forms

Six months after successfully receiving a grant, community organisations and charities will be required to submit a monitoring form detailing how the grant has been used by their organisation.

Grants Policy

Before application, it is essential that grant applicants fully read the Melksham Town Council grant policy to ensure they are eligible to apply. Applications that do not primarily benefit the Melksham Town community will be rejected. (If an organisation is not based in the area covered by Melksham Town Council but still benefits the community and/or individuals based there, the Town Council will provide funding on a pro-rata basis for the estimated number of residents using that service.)
