Melksham Town Council, Rivermead School and Community Conversations are seeking an artist to work with local school children to design a unique ‘Welcome to Forest’ sign for Melksham.
This is your chance to have your work seen by continual traffic!
This exciting community project will celebrate Melksham Forest by constructing a sign on land near to Rivermead School on the way into the area.
Project Goals
- Design and produce a welcoming, visually engaging sign that reflects the local children’s feelings towards the area of Melksham Forest.
- Incorporate ideas, artwork, or contributions from school children to create a sense of ownership and pride.
Budget
There will be a project budget of £3,500 to cover artist fees, materials and installation costs, which will be funded by Wiltshire Council.
Key Dates
- Application deadline: 31 July 2026
- School workshops: 18–27 September 2026
- Design finalisation: 4 October 2026
