Due to the ever-growing popularity of this event, we are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to join the Melksham Christmas Market & Lights Switch On Team to support the smooth-running of the day.
We will then be in touch nearer the time with more information on how the day will run and to confirm your availability and expertise.
Date: Saturday 7th December 2024
Timings: 8am-8pm
Locations: Melksham Market Place, Melksham High Street, Melksham Assembly Hall
Please note:
- The Melksham Christmas Market & Lights Switch On is a long day and often cold, so please dress appropriately and make sure you are physically able to undertake the tasks you sign up for.
- We will of course make sure we do not allocate anyone a job they are not comfortable with and will arrange the schedule so that no one is working for too long.
- Our busiest times of the day are 8am-12noon for set up and traffic marshalling, and from 6pm-8pm to assist in stall set down and tidying up.

Please note:
- The form is for local performers and community groups to register their interest in showcasing their talents at the event in an unpaid capacity. We will be contacting potential headline acts separately.
- You will need to be able to transport your own equipment to and from the venue on the day. We cannot guarantee in advance that enough volunteers will be available to assist entertainers at all times.
- You must adhere to the time of arrival you are allocated on the day. This is for safety reasons.
- If you require musical accompaniment for your performance (eg: a backing track) please indicate how you will provide this to us so we can arrange to have suitable equipment available on the day.
- You must take responsibility for the set-up, set down and storage of your own equipment on the day.
- We will be providing a PA and stage both inside and outside, and we have a few microphones available, however you will need to bring all your own musical instruments, amps, microphones etc. If you are unable to do so, please mention this in the relevant section of the form below and we will do our best to accommodate you.
