Melksham Splash Pad Reopening next month

Melksham Splash Pad & Play Area Reopening in May 2026

Melksham’s Splash Pad & Play Area in King George V Playing Field will reopen on Saturday 2nd May 2026, ready for a busy summer of free, familyfriendly fun.

Since the 2025 season ended, Melksham Town Council’s Amenities Team has been working on a series of upgrades and improvements to the Splash Pad. These include an upgraded dosing system to maintain a safe, clean play environment, along with adjusted operating procedures to ensure the service runs smoothly throughout the summer.

Families can enjoy the Splash Pad for free, with no booking required. Simply turn up between 10am and 5pm, every day during the summer season.

Dedicated SEN sessions will run each Wednesday from 10am to 11am, providing an inclusive and more comfortable environment for children who prefer a quieter space to enjoy the Splash Pad.

To ensure safety, operation will be weather dependent and it may close during poor conditions, such as heavy rain, high winds or cold temperatures. Weather conditions will be monitored, and closures will be shared on Melksham Town Council’s Facebook page.

Accommodating up to 120 children, families can enjoy Melksham’s Splash Pad during the summer months as a safe, fun environment to play and cool down. The Splash Pad is an unsupervised facility, parents or guardians are therefore responsible for supervising their children at all times.

Councillor Adrienne Westbrook, said

“Once again Melksham Residents can look forward to a Summer in King George V park with our Free Splash Pad, enjoy care free summer fun in the beautiful surroundings of our destination park right here in the centre of Town.”
